The Original Cakerie is Canada's leading and largest privately-owned frozen dessert manufacturer.  We have been experiencing exponential growth and as a result, we are able to offer Full Time PM / AM Setup positions.

Duties include:

  • Equipment set up and troubleshooting adjustments, to keep products within standard and the line running at or above required performance.
  • Maintaining the required hygiene standards of the equipment and the facility, consistent with GMP standards and Master Sanitation Schedules.
  • Daily management of the facility's wastewater treatment system.
  • Removing waste from the production areas as needed.
  • Safe use, storage and maintenance of all company supplied cleaning equipment and materials.
  • Supporting contract cleaning and maintenance services when necessary.
  • Maintaining all BRC Audit Paperwork and other required documentation as may be required.
  • Liaising with appropriate staff throughout the shift to ensure continuous process and quality standards.
  • Supporting line staff on day-to-day basis for general troubleshooting/problem solving/conflict resolution.
  • Adhering to safety, quality and performance standards.
  • Supporting training and continuous learning activities within the department.

Candidates should possess:

  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to work with all chemical cleaning agents including fungicides and possible insecticides.
  • Excellent attendance record, demonstrating reliability.
  • Analytical and creative problem-solving skills, focusing on the root causes and not the symptoms.
  • Strong initiative to achieve results.
  • Ability to perform some heavy lifting, climb stairs, navigate around manufacturing equipment, and work with a sense of urgency.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills; a team player.
  • Ability to work with limited or no supervision.
  • Experience using computers and HMI panels.

Schedule:

Schedules are based on operational needs and flexibility is required for scheduling purposes. 

The successful applicant will expect to achieve:

        Proficiency in the proper set-up and maintenance of all equipment.

Note: Candidates will be required to complete a skills evaluation for mechanical aptitude.

What We Offer

  • Pay rate: $22.11 hr.
  • $ 1000 dollar Referral Bonus
  • Night Premium is $1.5 (starting between 9:00 PM to 3:00 AM).
  • 8-hour shifts for 5 days. 
    • AM Shift: 2:00AM to 8:00AM Monday to Saturday. 6:00AM on Sundays. 
  • An extended health care package including dental will be applicable after the successful completion of your probationary period.
  • Employer contribution to Union pension plan.
